Does Volunteering Bring You Closer To God?

A church's volunteers are its heart and soul. No church can carry out the task set before us by Jesus—loving people and fostering a deepening connection with him—without outstanding volunteers. God intended the church to be a dynamic, expanding body rather than a group or club. Because of this, the church is described in the Bible using metaphors like a body, a flock, and a family.

Each of us can personally gain greatly from volunteering. It enables us to carry out Jesus' mandate to serve.

It brings us together and gives us a sense of unity. It enables us to forge lasting connections. Even in trying times, our deep connections and strong friendships keep us tied to the church. Giving back and volunteering make us feel fulfilled.
